Summit County is currently recruiting for a full time Environmental Health Scientist. Performs a variety of professional, complex technical duties related to the monitoring, inspecting and regulating county-wide environmental conditions and influences to assure compliance with state, federal and local environmental quality laws, regulations and guidelines. Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in environmental health, public health, health physics, biological science or other related fields. Must become certified as an inspector in various aspects of environmental health management through established professional organizations, state and federal, including air quality (opacity), asbestos, radon gas, water quality-sampling and testing, hazardous waste.
Environmental Health Scientist I - Minimum Qualifications: No experience necessary. Must become a registered Environmental Health Scientist within 18 months from date of hire.
Environmental Health Scientist II – Minimum Qualifications: Two (2) years of progressively responsible experience performing above or related duties or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be a registered Environmental Health Scientist.
Environmental Health Scientist I : $21.23 - $29.74/hr
Environmental Health Scientist II : $25.28 - $35.41/hr
