General Manager

Description


Mountain Regional Special Service District is recruiting for a General Manager to plan, direct, and control the activities and operations of the District consistent with the District's mission to provide the best quantity and quality supply of water at the lowest possible cost to District ratepayers.

The General Manager coordinates activities with District management and develops policy recommendations for Administrative Control Board action. Advises the Board on matters of policy and administration; formulates and presents to the Board plans to implement policies and accomplish the goals established by the Board. The General Manager directs the implementation of the priorities and levels of service established by the Board.

The successful candidate supervises and directs the annual District budget preparation. The General Manager reviews and evaluates the annual budget requests of all District departments. Directs the preparation of budget recommendations to the Board and County Council.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Law, or related field. A Master’s Degree is preferred. Ten years of increasingly responsible experience in a position responsible for directing, preparing and coordinating a variety of programs including budget and fiscal control; six years of which must have been in an administrative and management capacity.

Mountain Regional Water is located in the unincorporated Snyderville Basin area near Park City, Utah, and lies thirty miles east of Salt Lake City. The Basin area has a population of approximately 26,000 people. While the area started as farming and mining communities, the mining industry has been phased out, being replaced by recreation sports. The District has a budgeted operating expense of $8.2 million with 27 employees.
