First come, first serve for a limited time through December 31, 2016, limited to 100 Home Energy Score assessments.

Are you:
  • A primary County resident, with an owner-occupied, existing, detached single family home?
  • Willing to allow Home Energy Score information to be used for analysis of energy reduction and program effectiveness?
  • Willing to complete a brief survey after the Home Energy Score assessment?
  • Willing to allow for a 3-6 month follow up to discuss energy improvements made, cost of improvements, and resulting utility cost reduction?
If you said Yes! to these questions please click here to be redirected to the Home Energy Score assessor’s website to schedule your assessment.

What to expect during the assessment

  • It will take around one hour depending on the size and layout of your home
  • The assessor will need access to the outside perimeter of your home to measure the structure and windows
  • He will need access to the inside of your attic and crawlspace
  • He will enter the data while on site so you can receive your score immediatly and discuss your energy saving recommendations
  • If you have had a blower door test in the past, providing those results to the assessor will give you a more accurate Home Energy Score

If you answered No to one or more of the questions you can still get an audit!

  • The Home Energy Score - Single-family homes, townhouses, and duplexes can receive a Home Energy Score. At this time, multifamily and mobile homes cannot be scored. Scores cost approximately $200 and can be completed by Blue Moon Home Inspection.
  • Energy Star Certified Home - If you are building or purchasing a new home one option is to see if it is an Energy Star Certified Home.
  • ThermWise Home Energy Plan - For only $25 you can have a certified Questar Gas Energy Expert audit your home and provide a road map for efficiency improvements. Bonus: if you participate in a ThermWise Rebate they’ll refund the $25!
  • Home Energy Rating System(HERS) - Primarily used by home builders to demonstrate National Energy Code compliance, the HERS rating is conducted by certified Residential Energy Services Network HERS Raters at a cost of approximately $400/4,000 sq. ft. home.
