Deputy Sheriff

Description


Summit County is recruiting a full-time Deputy Sheriff to perform law enforcement duties intended to secure a safe environment for county citizens and to protect legal rights as established by federal, state, and local laws. May hire from one of the following levels depending of submitted qualifications and experience. 

Minimum Qualifications

Deputy I Graduation from High School, successful completion of P.O.S.T. Peace Officers Standards and Training Academy, and LEO certifiable within six months of hire date.

Deputy II Graduation from High School, successful completion of P.O.S.T., and three years of progressively responsible law enforcement experience.

Deputy III Graduation from High School, successful completion of P.O.S.T., and six years of progressively responsible law enforcement experience.

Salary Range:

  • Deputy Sheriff I : $19.86 – $27.81/hr.  
  • May be filled by:
    Deputy Sheriff II : $22.30 - $31.24/hr.   
  • May be filled by:
    Deputy Sheriff III : $25.06 - $35.10/hr.
