Summit County promotes responsible pet ownership, compassion toward animals and safe human-animal interactions through education and the enforcement of animal control laws. We provide responsive, efficient and high quality animal control services that preserves and protects public and animal safety. Animal Control’s mission is achieved through professionalism, responsibility, compassion, commitment, integrity, accountability and community partnerships. We strive to find responsible and loving homes for all of our adoptable pets.

Register your Dog:
Three year licenses are for those who have a three year rabies vaccine.

Schedule a hearing with the Administrative Law Judge
Hearings begin at 2:00 pm on the third Wednesday of the month. All hearings are held in the County Courthouse in Coalville.
You must be present at 2:00 pm.

    • Monday - Friday: 9:30 am to 4:00 pm
      Closed from 12 pm to 1 pm for lunch

    • Saturday + Sunday: CLOSED

    • Closed on Holidays

    Animal Control Officers

    Monday - Friday: 8:00 am - 4:00 pm, and on-call after 4:00 pm.

    Saturday + Sunday: Only available on an on-call basis. Will only respond to on-call policy callouts.
