Jami Brackin, Deputy County Attorney

Jami R. Brackin has served as a Civil Deputy for Summit County since 2001 and is a litigator representing the Snyderville Basin Planning Commission, Human Resources Department, County Clerk, County Sheriff, Telecommunications, Boundary Commission, County Jail, the Health Department and the Personnel Advisory Committee among other departments of the County as well as serving as legal counsel for the Park City Fire District, Snyderville Basin Special Recreation District and Mountain Regional Water Special Service District.

Jami is a graduate of the University of Southern California with a degree in International Relations and received her Juris Doctorate degree from Brigham Young University's J. Reuben Clark Law School, where she was the Managing Editor of the Education and Law Journal. She currently serves as the elected civil representative on the SWAP (State Wide Association of Prosecutors) board, a position she has held since 2004. She also serves on the Land Use Task Force with the Utah League of Cities and Towns, and is the Chair of the Civil Legislative Action Committee (CivLAC Utah Association of Counties.

Prior to her tenure with Summit County, Jami was in private practice in Wyoming representing local municipalities and also served for many years as a felony prosecutor in Uinta County (Evanston), Wyoming. She remains an active member of the Wyoming Bar as well as the Utah Bar, and is also admitted to practice before the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals as well as the United States Supreme Court.

In addition to her legal practice, Jami has taught Political Science, Criminal Justice and Business Law as an adjunct professor for Western Wyoming Community College for over 20 years. Jami is also currently serving as an elected member of the Uinta County (Wyoming) School District #1 Board of Trustees.

In her pre-law life, Jami worked in Hollywood for many years as a celebrity coordinator for the game show company Mark Goodson Productions, and other celebrity based events. Her job was to book celebrities on games shows like Password, Hollywood Squares, Match Game, Family Feud specials, Body Language and charity sporting events or telethons, and has many stories to tell from those days.

Jami resides in Evanston Wyoming with her husband Chris and 2 of their 4 children, as well as 6 chickens, a rabbit and her Shih-Tzu, Mimi.
