[ARCHIVED] 2023 Municipal Elections

Untitled design (38)

On Wednesday, June 7, 2023, Utah Governor Spencer Cox issued a set of proclamations, moving the primary and general election dates for this year. The reason for the delay is the resignation of Utah Congressman Chris Stewart, who represents the state's second district, which covers Salt Lake City and the southwest rural part of the state, including Tooele and St. George. His resignation is effective Sept. 15. Under Utah law, the governor had seven days to determine a schedule to replace Stewart with a special election.
