We have limited options to learn to ride a horse. Park City is not affordable or accessible. Horses requires facilities to board, train, teach and compete. The Sport needs open space, trails, and arenas. Silver Creek is the largest and one of the few remaining equestrian neighborhoods in Park City with currently 500 horses on 150 properties and we do not have a public riding facility. Park City Pony Club with 60 members and sponsors does not have a facility, we must use private land to host mounted meetings. Oakley and Heber have public facilities mostly for Rodeo, However, Show Jumping, Dressage and 3-Day-Eventing are Olympic Sports creating significant economic development for communities that invest in a competition horse parks. If we do nothing, horses will leave Silver Creek as they have left most of Park City. Let's save equestrian sports and invest in the infrastructure to keep the Equestrian Olympic Dream alive and well in Park City. Go to www.ParkCityPonyClub.org get involved

I would like to encourage our community to do whatever we can to bring high speed internet to our area. I know the F.C.C. is subsidizing rural broadband, "to ensure that all Americans receive the benefit of 21st-century communications".
The impact of high speed internet would affect many sectors of our community including education, business, hospitality, etc. I can't see any negative side effect of providing this service.
Please find below a link to a NYTimes article with more details about the F.C.C. subsidizing rural broadband service.
http://www.nytimes.com/2014/05/24/business/court-approves-fcc-plan-to-subsidize-rural-broadband-service.html?_r=0
I have tried to work with Comcast and Century-link to pull a fiber optic connection to my neighborhood, however these companies are not interested because I live in a small rural neighborhood and they do not think they would see a return on their investment.
I'm now turning to the community and government in hopes we can get it done

Many of us would like to attend County Council meetings and Planing Commission meetings but can't due to conflicts. It would be a great addition to use something like Goggle Hangouts to show live (and record) Council Work sessions and meetings, as well as Planning Commission meetings.
This would enable residents to get more involved because they would be more informed. Park City School District does this on every meeting and it is very useful.

In Silvercreek the past many years everyone wants to build their own indoor arena for their horses. This has created open space issues as everyone wants to build their own 12,000+ SF arena on their own lots creating a very industrial feel. I was thinking it would be great if we could take land over on Echo Drive that has been ear marked for a park and place an indoor arena there for public equestrian use. In all of synderville basin there is no public gathering for equestrians. If equestrians want to ride 5 months of the year we trailer to Oakley(one of the only public arenas in summit county or to Wasatch County. This could preserve the equestrian heritage of Park City before all the horses are gone.

Seriously, are you EVER going to educate drivers on how to use roundabouts? If I see another driver, including a Council bus, signalling right when he's ultimately going left on the roundabout, OR a driver stopping on the roundabout to let other drivers on it, I'll scream! And please change the sign entering the roundabout from 224 to Walmart. Parts of the sign have been crossed out with marker pens. No way should a driver be turning right from the left lane. I know there are arrows faded out arrows there, but no-one takes any notice. And no driver in the outside lane should be going all the way around it. They have to exit at least on the second exit. And EVERY driver entering a roundabout should slow and yield. It seems that because they have a right turn lane (also on the roundabout near Smith's/Silver Mountain Gym), drivers think they don't need to slow down or yield, and in fact speed up. Very dangerous. Please re-do the line markings and arrows.

The popularity of horse ownership is growing with the population of the basin. It has become increasingly important to include equestrians at the table for equitable use of public funding and lands.
The Snyderville Basin Equestrian Center would fulfill the following community objectives:
-Preserve Open Space and provide a new model for land conservancy.
-Provide affordable and accessible year-round equestrian sport, recreation, and education to members of our community.
-Create a new youth development program that builds character, leadership, confidence and a sense of community
-Meet a “portion” of the demand. So many youth and adults in the area want the benefits of horsemanship.
-Inspire equestrian athletes for Olympics disciplines like Dressage, Show Jumping, and Eventing.
-Educate youth in careers in equine science and management
-Build the equestrian community by connecting equestrian neighborhoods with the equestrian center.

How about some rules or oversight about this Uber Heliport which is running constant commuter flights from SLC into the Snyderville basin. The racket is unbelievable, and this is a violation of zoning. None of my neighbors were involved in this commercial enterprise which is to the detriment of our quiet enjoyment of our property. I'm all for supporting Sundance but constant helicopter traffic in and out of a residence is unacceptable.

This track is extremely loud, the owner has taken all the native bushes from the banks of the weber. He is proposing a commercial track, which would be very loud, and take away from the quiet and peaceful nature of this area . It would adversely affect users of the railtrail and people fishing and enjoying the river. It threatens the river quality. It does not fit with the rural nature of this area.

We attended the meeting last week and you asked for our feedback. Here is ours:
1. Light industrial moving in on the residential.
We bought the property next to us so that we could build a house on it for our daughter. It is zoned industrial and it needs to be residential in order to build a house. It is right next to residential, so we want to change it back to residential, which is how it's always been used.

Resorts west processed payments ,on the third day, I received a call stating I only had one option, a home I turned down from beginning, I was told well good news bad news, we will return money except for 1300.00 that is what discover charged resorts, I did not think I should be docked when this could have been avoided, I still have not received ANY money, and have already purchased 12 plane tickets....I have made other arrangements. If your county can deny me because of a medical alert Dog,i Wish you would state this. I Want ALL money back. I did EVERYThing Doug asked, in past 9 years I have never been denied access,I have been told if I showed up with family, I would have been denied access on spot!

Many of us in Jeremy Ranch are concerned over speeding in our residential zones. Wildlife fatalities are common and our streets are dangerous for pedestrians (no sidewalks, kids walking to/from school bus stops, very fast cars and trucks). Posted speed limits are often ignored. I raised the idea of installing traffic calming devices such as speed humps and received significant support from my neighbors. What should I do next to learn more about this topic?
