Tom Fisher is Summit County's second County Manager, previously serving as County Administrator for Mesa County, Colorado. He brings a wealth of experience to Summit County including strategic planning, collaboration with local governments, and strong staff leadership skills. Mr. Fisher has served in a number of valuable roles including: Internal Services Director, Regional Services Director, and Director of the Regional Transportation Planning Office, all within Mesa County. Earlier in his career Fisher worked in Utah for the Cache Metropolitan Planning Organization as a Transportation Planner. In addition to his wealth of experience in county government, Fisher is a Colonel in the United States Army with 26 years of service. An Iraq veteran, Fisher currently serves as a brigade commander in the Utah Army National Guard. He holds a Master of Strategic Studies degree from the U.S. Army War College and a Bachelor and Master of Science degrees from Michigan State University in Environmental Science and Public Planning. Fisher and his wife Sheri have three boys.
